The Cottage Experience

Reminiscent of the family fish camps in the early days of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, our lakeside cottages feature all the comforts of home right on the beautiful Lake Shelby.  With three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a full kitchen, and plenty of indoor and outdoor living spaces, you will have ample space to relax and reconnect.

Once you have settled in, grab a map to the nearly 28 miles of trails located right outside your door and go exploring on foot or on bike.  Or, go kayaking on Lake Shelby.  Or, head to the beach to splash in the surf, soak up some sun, or see what treasures you can find beachcombing.  Just want to unwind? You can do that, too, on your screened in porches, on the open deck, or on your swing.

Dining

When you’re ready to eat, you can prepare a meal in your own kitchen or have our chef prepare something for you in your cottage. Woodside Restaurant is a short stroll, bike ride, or park tram ride from your cottage. Woodside offers a little slice of bliss among the longleaf pines. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offering creative Southern cuisine from the finest locally-sourced ingredients, ice cold craft beers, and refreshing cocktails in a relaxed environment. Woodside Restaurant offers Eagle Cottages guests a unique experience where you can dine indoors or outdoors under the shade of a live oak, enjoy a cool wood side breeze, listen to live music, play horseshoes, or just sip a beverage and gaze up at the stars. Eagle Cottages guests can call ahead and we will have a table waiting for you. Menu items are easily packaged to go, in the event you want to dine at your cottage or if you want to have a picnic while exploring the park.

Other dining options in the park include Foodcraft, Perch, and Roasted Oak, all located a short bike or tram ride away at the Lodge at Gulf State Park. Foodcraft is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so if you’re out exploring the beach and south side of the park, it’s a great casual spot to satisfy your hunger or quench the thirst you’ve worked up. Perch is open for dinner nightly and offers a more refined menu serving up the freshest local seafood as well as local produce and other items. Roasted Oak is a coffee shop by day and wine bar at night. Located in the lobby at the Lodge, it’s a great place to get a cup of coffee or a cocktail and a light snack to enjoy the view from our porch overlooking the Gulf.
